What is Grasshopper Soccer?

G
rasshopper Soccer is Australia's number 1 non-competitive soccer provider for children aged 2-12. We focus on providing fun, unique and non-competitive soccer programs that provide a pathway of development for children from 2-12. Grasshopper Soccer is about more than just coaching soccer.

We promote an environment of active fun without the pressure and stress of competition. This has a positive effect on parents and children alike. In fact, it's what sets Grasshopper Soccer apart from other soccer programs in Australia.

A major component of Grasshopper Soccer programs is promoting the interaction between parents and children, whilst encouraging the enhancement of general motor skills, coordination and confidence of all participants.

History
S
tarted in Booragoon,WA, in 1990, Grasshopper Soccer led the way in the development of young children through soccer. In 2004, Grasshopper Soccer was taken over by Hyperactive Sport Australia Pty Ltd. Hyperactive Sport was Western Australia's leading before, during and after school sports clinics. During this time Grasshopper Soccer expanded the type of programs offered and, under some careful guidance, evolved into 5 centres across the Perth metropolitan area.

Grasshopper Soccer quickly became the leader of non-competitive soccer programs in Western Australia.

Grasshopper Soccer is actively expanding its exciting concept into further regions of Australia, New Zealand and other selected countries.

Philosophy
With proper guidance, Grasshopper Soccer believes that you can use its soccer programs as a medium to teach children the basic principles of life such as fairness, sportsmanship and teamwork. These basic principles are taught through a learning model that is

•   Non-Competitive

•   Fun
•   Support

At Grasshopper Soccer we still play matches, however, our focus is not on the score or who won or lost - but team play, that is … having fun and gaining confidence.

Our programs are fun and high on participation, no child is ever left without a ball or sitting on the side waiting for a turn. The games we play generally have a story behind them and are told in an animated way by the coaches.

Children are actively supported by their parents, coaches and peers in our programs. In our younger classes parents are actively involved, helping and guiding their child. Parents support their child in a positive and encouraging manner. Parents involved in our programs understand that unsportsmanlike conduct and/or put-down of children is unacceptable behaviour.

Professional Conduct
Grasshopper Soccer provides professional coaching for all its programs. Therefore highly professional conduct of dealings related to Grasshopper Soccer is required. Since parents and schools entrust the coach with their children and students, Grasshopper Soccer must ensure high quality of care, teaching and knowledge to work with children and professionalism across all aspects of Grasshopper Soccer.
