Manager & Coach
Phil Pohlenz-Saw
Manager & Coach

Coach Phil has been playing soccer since he was 7 years old and has over five years of public speaking experience. He started at Grasshopper Soccer as a coach and eventually became a manager, combining his love for performing, teaching, and sport which makes Grasshopper Soccer a perfect fit for him.

He has previously worked as a tour guide in both Western Australia and Europe, and as an advisor developing leadership programs in rural Aboriginal schools. Phil is passionate about making Grasshopper Soccer programs enjoyable, professional, and valuable for every child.

Supervisor & Coach
Quinn Mailman
Supervisor & Coach

Quinn started playing soccer at just five years old and has loved the game ever since. Originally from New Zealand, he has played competitively for over 15 years and brings with him a lifelong passion for the sport.

Before moving to Australia, Quinn coached the Whanganui Athletic Academy U10s for three years, ran a community football program, and helped lead a “Tiny Tots” introduction to soccer for ages 2–5. He has now been coaching with Grasshopper Soccer for two terms. With his background in both coaching and financial planning, Quinn has developed strong communication skills and a natural ability to connect with kids and parents alike.

After suffering a couple of ACL injuries, coaching became Quinn’s way to stay close to the sport he loves while inspiring the next generation of players. He enjoys watching kids grow in confidence and have fun on the field, reminding him of his own early soccer days. Outside of coaching, Quinn works full-time in financial planning at Evolve Wealth Management, and in his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, spending time at the sauna, and staying active.

Assistant Coach
Evan Tailor Deal
Assistant Coach

Coach Evan started playing soccer at just five years old and grew up with the game by his side. He has played for a club every year since, building his skills, confidence, and love for the sport along the way.

Grasshopper Soccer has been a huge part of Evan’s journey, so much so that working here is now his very first job. He’s excited to give back by helping younger players learn the game in the same supportive and fun environment that shaped his own soccer story.

Coach
Farah Fazli
Coach

Coach Farah has had a passion for soccer since she was a child, starting at the age of nine and beginning her coaching journey in late 2024. She loves the sport and its strong sense of community and belonging, even after facing a few knee injuries along the way. Off the field, she is a full-time architecture student, where she’s developed a deeper understanding of how environments shape people. She brings that same sense of belonging, encouragement, and fun to every session with her young players.
