Manager & Coach
Phil Pohlenz-Saw
Manager & Coach

Coach Phil has been playing soccer since he was 7 years old and has over five years of public speaking experience. He started at Grasshopper Soccer as a coach and eventually became a manager, combining his love for performing, teaching, and sport which makes Grasshopper Soccer a perfect fit for him.

He has previously worked as a tour guide in both Western Australia and Europe, and as an advisor developing leadership programs in rural Aboriginal schools. Phil is passionate about making Grasshopper Soccer programs enjoyable, professional, and valuable for every child.

Supervisor & Coach
Garry Tsui
Supervisor & Coach

Coach Garry first started playing soccer back in primary school and has loved being active ever since.

He’s been coaching with Grasshopper Soccer for two years, bringing experience from working with both primary and high school students, as well as completing practicum hours at a gym. Outside of coaching, Garry has even been an MC at a church camp—showing his confidence and energy in connecting with others.

Currently studying Sport Science and Exercise Health at UWA, Garry’s main sport is volleyball, and he also enjoys dabbling in cooking. What he loves most about being a supervisor is seeing the youths grow in confidence through movement and skill development.

Supervisor & Coach
Lucas Trevenen
Supervisor & Coach

Coach Lucas first started playing soccer when he was 10 years old in Year 4, but his love for the game began much earlier—kicking a ball around his Nonna’s backyard at just three years old.

He’s been part of Grasshopper Soccer for five years, gaining valuable experience coaching, supervising, and connecting with both kids and parents. Lucas loves seeing players grow in skill and confidence, especially when they reach the level to move on to club soccer.

Outside of Grasshopper Soccer, Lucas works at Universal Store and plans to begin an electrical apprenticeship in 2026. When he’s not on the field, you’ll likely find him working on cars, one of his favourite hobbies.

Coach
Bryce McGivern
Coach

Coach Bryce started playing soccer at six years old with Grasshopper Soccer Morley – the very place where his love for the game began. At eight, he joined Dianella Soccer Club, where he continues to play today. Though he’s tried other sports like lacrosse and AFL, soccer has always been his favourite.

This is Bryce’s first job, and he’s currently in Year 9 at Morley Senior High School. In the future, he hopes to study engineering at university.

What Bryce loves most about Grasshopper Soccer is not just the game itself, but seeing kids learn, grow, and develop the same passion for soccer that he has.

Coach
Isaac Infirri
Coach

Coach Isaac has loved soccer from a very young age, starting to play when he was just two years old! He continued playing throughout his school years and has now taken his passion for the game into coaching with Grasshopper Soccer.

This is Isaac’s first year coaching with the team, and he brings plenty of experience working with children from his time in schools over the past few years. He’s also studying at university to become a teacher, combining his love for learning and helping others grow.

Isaac’s favourite part about coaching at Grasshopper Soccer is seeing the big smiles on the kids’ faces at the end of every session. He loves being able to guide young players as they build their soccer skills, confidence, and sportsmanship.

Coach
Munya Chinamo
Coach

Coach Munya started playing soccer at just 4 years old — and 19 years later, he’s still kicking! His passion for the game has only grown over the years, leading him to coaching and mentoring young players.

He began volunteer coaching junior teams back home in New Zealand during high school and went on to take his first competitive coaching role with an U17 boys’ team before moving to Perth. Alongside Grasshopper Soccer, he now also coaches an U11 club team.

Through years of coaching and tutoring, Munya has developed strong public speaking skills and feels right at home leading sessions or presenting ideas. His favourite part about coaching at GHS is chatting with the kids about football — from favourite teams to top players — and hearing their funny and passionate opinions about the game.

Outside of GHS, Munya focuses on soccer coaching full-time. Fresh out of university, he’s now working toward earning his formal coaching qualifications. When he’s not on the field, he enjoys music, watching other sports, and spending time with friends.
